Desert Folk Art

My husband and I went
exploring in the desert
yesterday on his ATV.

I saw some beautiful pink
prickly pear cactus and
had to paint some in
my own little world.

I'm trying to paint
with more freedom
and simplicity and
strangely enough, am
finding it very difficult.

That said, I'm not
giving up. There's
something very pleasurable
about it.

I keep reminding myself
that repetition is the mother of skill.
