This is me singing right now. . .
I don't want to work.
I just want to paint on dee drums all day!
That's the great thing about art.
Your doing something creative and productive
that doesn't seem like work.
It doesn't get any better than that. Right?
Many moons ago, I used to paint and sell
furniture at a local gallery.
My dear friend, (knowing this fact) asked
me to paint a set of conga drums she had.
What a fun project, right?
She gave me her color palette and said,
"Do your thing!"
Sooo, here's my thing.
You can see in the pictures that I painted the black &
white one half and half.
One side is white on black and the other
side is black on white.
I thought it'd give them a cool option
when it came to displaying them.
Taking on this project was a little more unnerving
than if I were painting for people I didn't know.
It was always in the back of my mind
whether or not she'll like it, or if it's their style, etc. . .
I'm not sure if it hampered my creativity
or not when all was said and done.
I was pleased with the way they turned out, and
fortunately she and her husband loved them.

Sooo grateful for that!
I still have them taped in these pictures
because I haven't put on the final coat of varnish yet.
Thanks for stopping by.
Wishing you peace, love and joy!
